Twin City Union FC Wins Home Opener

Twin City Union FC played host to Yakima United FC in the home opener of the 2017 Northwest Premier League season.

Joslin Lindsay (Centralia College) opened up the scoring in the 7th min on an assist from Camryn Althauser (St. Martins/Rochester HS)  Yakima even up the score knocking in a penalty kick in the 14th min.  After coming on as a sub in the 27th minute, Bella Brown (Black Hills HS) pounced on a lose ball and calmly placed it in the back of the net unassisted.

The Union FC Ladies took a 2-1 lead into halftime.

In the second half, the Union took advantage of an opportunity on a free kick just outside the box.  LeAnn Phanakone stepped up and curved in a beauty far post putting the club up 3-1 in the 47th minute.  In the 68th minute Yakima put one back on the board to bring United FC within 1 with the score 3-2. Twin City Union FC's Bella Brown put the game to bed by converting on a penalty kick in the 78th minute making the score 4-2 and that is how the match concluded.

The Club travels to Wenatchee next weekend.
