This last Saturday, the 16U ladies for Twin City Union FC took to the pitch to face a winless Seattle Celtic team at home. The first half was full of excitement as Megan Letts got the ball rolling early to score in the seventh minute. It didn't take long for Celtic to fire back as their offense came to life in the 15' as Emma Garcia took a shot on goal and found the back of the net. Seattle Celtic wasn't done after that after they made a run up the field connecting several passes that ended with a cross from Emma Garcia and landed on the foot of Grace Orma for a goal in the 20'. For roughly fifteen minutes, the two teams played a chess like match trying to find the next opportunity. That opportunity came for TCUFC in the way of a breakaway goal from U14 call-up Anahi Corona as she split two defenders and got a clean one on one shot on goal with the keeper to find the back of the net in the 35'. Union wasn't done though, the TCUFC squad was able to score shortly after in the 38' by Alexa Barragan. Twin City Union would take a 3-2 lead at halftime. When the two squads took the pitch in the second half, it was pure soccer defense from then on. Neither team would find the net the rest of the way and the final would be 3-2 in favor of our Twin City Union ladies. The 16U squad improve to 1-1 on the season.
